Hosting the PSL 5 opening ceremony was probably the worst nightmare for Ahmed Godil as his troubles have only increased from that point on. After facing brutal trolling on social media, Ahmed Godil has confirmed his suspension from the ongoing Pakistan Super League as decided by the PCB. According to sources, Godil’s suspension was the result of his views about the singer Ali Zafar that he expressed in an interview to a media house.
While talking to one news portal, the defamed PSL host Ahmed Godil said that he didn’t have the permission to play PSL songs of Ali Zafar at the cricket grounds during PSL 5 matches.
Sources say that after his recent comments, Godil was relieved by the PCB of his duties. Confirming the news of suspension of Ahmed Godil, one PCB official said that he was sacked “due to unprofessional behavior and indiscipline.”
Earlier, Ahmed Godil had faced extreme backlash on social media after his performance at the PSL 5 opening ceremony. After that, he appeared on a few popular news channels and requested people not to get personal because he did nothing wrong and was just doing his duties.
Has Ahmed Godil Been Treated Justly?
Well, everyone must have their own opinion on whether the young PSL host was treated in a just manner or not. Ahmed Godil has said that he wasn’t meant to go live and was just there to entertain the crowd at the stadium. He was just covering up the mess that PSL management had created of the PSL 5 opening ceremony. So, what do you think? Was this entire episode of trolling just to Godil? Should this have been done?
