Babar Azam ruled the ICC T20 Batsmen Rankings for almost 2 years and has finally been replaced by the Englishman Dawid Malan. Malan played brilliantly in the recent series against Pakistan and Australia to claim the top spot.
The left-handed English batsman had a couple of amazing series back-to-back as he bagged 213 runs in 6 games averaging 42.6 combined in the two series.
His wonderful batting performances earned him some crucial points to help him reach the top spot dethroning Azam with a four spot leap. The stylish Babar Azam has now slipped down to No. 2 in ICC T20I batsmen rankings with 869 rating points where Malan rules now with a rating of 877.
Everyone had expected Babar Azam to do wonders for Pakistan on their recent tour to England, but he couldn’t really come up to the mark. He had quite an underwhelming run both in the T20Is and the Test matches.
