Amidst all that, what cricket fans are interested in is some exciting news like how much will their favorite players will get in the PSL 5 and who will be the highest paid players of PSL 2020. Though it doesn’t have any direct impact on the result of the tournament, but it’s still related to which team gets the best players and how they’ll perform in the tournament.

Highest Paid Players of PSL 2020

You will have to wait until the PSL draft 2020 in order to find out which players will be getting paid the highest in the upcoming tournament. There is no official news as yet and it will be made public right after the draft.

We’ll update the list of PSL 2020 highest paid players here when it is officially announced. We’re sharing the list of probable options here for you, though.

  • Shahid Afridi

The flamboyant all-rounder and the former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi has been the most desirable player for different PSL franchises over the years. He has been paid highly during the previous seasons and is expected to end up earning the highest salary in the PSL 5 too. Last year, he represented Multan Sultans and will likely be moving to Lahore Qalandars after being associated to Qalandars in Abu Dhabi T10 league

  • Shane Watson

Shane Watson ended up leading the board of highest run getters in the PSL 2019 and has high stakes in the upcoming season of PSL too. The Australian all-rounder has been consistently representing the Quetta Gladiators since the beginning of franchise cricket in Pakistan and has also performed consistently for them too. He was among the highest paid players of PSL 2019 too and will definitely seek a higher salary in the upcoming seasons of the tournament.

  • Colin Ingram

Playing for Karachi Kings last year, Ingram impressed a lot with his improvisation skills and some amazing batting talent. During last couple of seasons, he has managed 587 runs from just 17 innings scoring at an average of 34.52. His strike rate is superb too and that’s what makes him an even more important pick for his side. He was also among the highest paid players for the previous season courtesy his superb show with the bat a year earlier and his overall prolific batting form. Over the years he has become an integral part of the Karachi Kings franchise and his salary can only be expected to grow higher from this point onwards.

  • Wahab Riaz

Wahab Riaz has been the lead player for Peshawar Zalmi side and he has been with them since the inaugural season of the Pakistan Super League. He has been enjoying great run of form both with the ball and bat lately and his commitment to his cause is unshakable. He was a platinum pick for Zalmi in the last season and will remain in the top category for 2020 PSL 5 too. And, we can expect him to continue with the same spirit and make a difference for the Peshawar Zalmi franchise.

  • Luke Ronchi

Ronchi has been a sizzler with the bat for the Islamabad United on top and he’s been rock solid there. He is expected to make a difference for them yet again. He is averaging high and plays at a brisk strike rate and that’s exactly what makes him the most desirable player for the United for a long time now. Depending on the salary cap that will be announced by the PCB for the upcoming season of PSL, he is expected to secure a high salary yet again.

  • AB de Villiers

The former South African captain, and the flamboyant middle order batsman, AB de Villiers appeared at the PSL scene for the first time in 2019. And, he performed just the way it was expected from the star. In fact, he was averaging among the top few players in the last season only out of 7 games that he represented his side in. The master blaster averaged 54.50 in his short stint at the event and scored 218 runs in total. Moving ahead into the PSL 2020, a lot will be expected from him and he’s surely going to be picked by the same franchise at a much higher price.

  • Steven Smith

Smith was picked among the highest paid platinum category players during the PSL 4 draft and was all set to play for Multan Sultans. However, just ahead of the tournament, he got injured and was ruled out from the tournament. Now that he has made a comeback to his national side and has been performing at his best, we can expect him to be among the top few picks for this year’s Pakistan Super League as well. We can’t say how much he will bag this year, though. But whatever he gets, he’s definitely going to be among the top highest paid players PSL 2020 for sure.
