ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Schedule
Yes, we already have the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 schedule as it will be starting on 18th of October 2020 in Australia. Overall, there will be 16 teams competing in the tournament where top 8 teams on ICC Rankings will qualify directly for the Super 12 round while the remaining 8 teams will have to play a qualifying round first with 2 teams from each group making it to the Super 12.

Yes, it is pretty surprising to see Afghanistan qualifying for the main round of the tournament ahead of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. But they truly and richly deserve to be there after their wonderful performances on the T20 scene. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are the remaining two teams on top 10 team rankings that will have to play the qualifiers for being there in the Super 12 round of the tournament. They will compete in the Group Stage against six other teams from the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Qualifiers to make it to the main round.
ICC World T20 2020 Format
Like every year, the ICC World T20 2020 will be played in three stages. These include:
- First Round
- Super 12 Round
- Knockout Round
ICC T20 World Cup 2020 First Round
The First Round of the tournament will be a preliminary round where 8 teams will be divided into two groups named Group A and Group B. Each team in the group will play once against all the other three sides while trying their best to end up in the top two teams in their respective group to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Super 12 round.

The First Round matches will be played from 18th of October, 2020 to 23rd of October, 2020. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 12 Round.
ICC World T20 2020 Super 12
After the Group Stage is over, the main round of the tournament will start where all the top 12 sides will be seen competing against each other. This is where the real thrill starts and we’ll get to see some of the most amazing finishes in this round of the tournament for sure.
The formulation of the Super 12 Group will be like that it will feature top 8 teams on the ICC T20 Rankings and 4 teams will join them from the First Round – 2 from Group A and 2 from Group B. Here again, the teams will be divided into two groups of 6 teams each and these groups will be named as Group 1 and Group 2.

- New Zealand
- West Indies
- Qualifier 1 from Group A
- Qualifier 2 from Group B
The teams in Group 2 will include:
- South Africa
- Qualifier 1 from Group B

The matches of the Super 12 round will start on 24th of October, 2020 with the game between Australia and Pakistan. This round will conclude on 8th of November, 2020 with India taking on Afghanistan in their last Super 12 game.
ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Knockout Stage
The ICC World T20 2020 Knockouts will feature only three matches i.e. the two semifinals and the ICC World T20 2020 Final. The Knockout Stage of the tournament will be played between four qualifying teams where the top two from Group 1 and Group 2 will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Semifinals before the winners of the two games battle for the trophy in the Final.
The first Semifinal will be played on November 11, 2020 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney while the second Semifinal will be played on November 12, 2020 at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Final will be played on November 15, 2020 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
