The IPL franchise Delhi Capitals informed on Sunday that the assistant physiotherapist of the team has tested positive for COVID-19. The good news, however, is that the team official was already in isolation when he was reported positive for the virus and hadn’t been in contact with the team players yet.
According to Delhi Capitals, the physiotherapist was under mandatory 6-day isolation period when he was reported positive and right after that he’s been sent into another 14 days of quarantine.
The team management at the Delhi Capitals has said the physiotherapist currently remains at the IPL isolation center in Dubai. He will be required to test negative twice after his 14 days of quarantine before he could be allowed to join his franchise again. The authorities further said that their medical team is constantly in touch with the physio and wished a speedy recovery to him as well.
Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, Delhi Capitals have already started their practice sessions at the ICC Academy in Dubai with their mentors Ricky Ponting, Samuel Badree, Mohammad Kaif, Vijay Dhaiya, and Ryan Harris.
