PSL 2020 Islamabad United Owner and Coach Details
Islamabd United, the winners of the inaugural PSL T20, are now looking forward to making a strong comeback in the PSL 5. They did perform reasonably well in the last season too by securing the 3rd spot but that doesn’t suffice. Aiming at the PSL 2020 win, who will be the PSL 2020 Islamabad United owner and coach? Are there any changes on the cards?
PSL 2020 Islamabad United Owner and Coach
With Misbah-ul-Haq taking over as Pakistan coach only recently, and Waqar Younis being his bowling assistant, there is a lot of news floating around the coaching role in Islamabad United ahead of PSL 2020. Yes, we know that Waqar is already on the bowling coach assignment with United and there’s a strong chance that Misbah might take over the head coach role with them.
Islamabad United Owner: Leonine Global Sports (Ali Naqvi & Amna Naqvi)
Yes, we have seen them on the grounds for last four years and the gorgeous couple, Ali Naqvi and Amna Naqvi, remains the owner of the Islamabad United franchise. They have been doing a great job to serve the game of cricket in the country and we expect them to keep doing that in PSL 5 and moving ahead of that as well.
Islamabad United Coach: Dean Jones
As of now, it is official that Dean Jones is the coach of Islamabad United. But there is speculation that Misbah will be taking over that role from him in the PSL 5 and will join Waqar Younis as the duo will be working with Pakistan National side as well. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet and we have to wait a little more to get the official word.
Besides, they have the legendary off-spinner Saeed Ajmal as their spin-bowling coach as well.
Islamabad United Captain: Muhammad Sami
It was Muhammad Sami who lead them in the initial games of the PSL 4 and is still assuming that role. However, United were also lead by the flamboyant Luke Ronchi as well towards the latter part of the last season. So, we never know who gets into the boots for PSL 5.
A slight controversy is that Wikipedia is showing Shadab Khan as their new captain. So, is there a twist in the tail? Are united going to have an all-new captain for the upcoming PSL 2020? That would be interesting to find out.
So, there is a lot of fuss around PSL 2020 Islamabad United owner and coach and even the captain. We should better wait until we get some official word in a month or so ahead of the PSL 5 draft in November. Until then, stay tuned!
