PSL 2020 Multan Sultans Owner and Coach Details
Multan Sultans have only featured in the last two seasons of Pakistan Super League and they have built a few controversies around them in this short time. The franchise that was first sold to Schon Properties in 2017 was revoked a year later due to payment issues. In 2018, the franchise was sold again to Multan Consortium after which they participated in PSL 2019. However, it didn’t affect their position and they ended up 5th in both the seasons they have played. The PSL 2020 Multan Sultans owner and coach changed in their first and second season but we expect them to continue with same staff that was there in 2019.
PSL 2020 Multan Sultans Owner and Coach
As mentioned earlier, there was a change in Sultans’ management ahead of PSL 2019. However, nothing seems to have changed since then and we are expecting them to go with the same staff in all major roles. Here are more details about their owners and coaches for PSL 5.
Multan Sultans Owner: Multan Consortium (Ali Tareen & Taimoor Malik)
The franchise was sold again in 2018 to Multan Consortium. The owners were Ali Tareen and Taimoor Malik. The popular businessman Ali Tareen is the son of Jahangir Tareen, the ace member of the ruling party in the country Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. They did a lot of work on raising the side up with new coaching staff and also issued the franchise’s merchandize to make it popular. They also changed the slogan of the team to ‘Janoob Ki Pehchan’ making it more relatable for the cricket fans in South Punjab. Nevertheless, the team’s name was left intact after several suggestions coming up and not being picked by the owners.
Multan Sultans Coach: Mike Hesson
Mike Hesson is a renowned name in world cricket and he is also the current head coach of New Zealand cricket team as well. He joined Multan Sultans for the last season i.e. PSL 2019 and is still with them as they go into the PSL 5. If he could bring any change to the Sultans’ fate is yet to be seen but he’s very confident of their chances in the PSL 2020.
Multan Sultans Captain: Shoaib Malik
The veteran Pakistan cricket player and former captain Shoaib Malik is leading the side since their first outing on the PSL scene. Malik has lead them well but couldn’t produce any major results for the side. They’d be expecting a turnaround of events for sure this time.
There is no news about PSL 2020 Multan Sultans owner and coach changing for the upcoming season. However, they’d expect to change their fate as they move ahead.
