Pakistan Squad Pak vs Eng 2020
Pakistan will be playing Test matches under the captaincy of Azhar Ali. He’s been the rock solid batsman with the bat for Pakistan in Test matches for quite a long time now. And, he gave great account of his captaincy skills during the home series earlier this year as well. Azhar’s batting will be the key for Pakistan on top in Test matches.
In T20Is, Babar Azam will be the captain of the Pakistani side. Babar has been the Mr. consistent for Pakistan for quite a long time now. He is the no. 1 ranked batsman in T20Is and will be expected to play like a boss and dominate the English bowlers at their home. It will be a bit challenging for him, however, to continue with the same momentum as before on his return to cricket after a few months break now.
Pakistan have inducted 4 opening batsmen for the tour with the likes of Abid Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Shan Masood. In the middle order, they have players like Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Haider Ali, Shoaib Malik, and Mohammad Hafeez. They are all capable of hitting big on their day and can also stabilize the middle order when needed. A perfect mix of experience and young blood, the Pakistani batting line looks rock solid on paper.
On the bowling front, Pakistan would rely on Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sohail Khan, Usman Shinwari, Wahab Riaz, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Hasnain. They have all proven their worth to the team already and will prove to be the key players with the ball for Pakistan in the next series. Shadab Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Yasir Shah, and Imad Wasim will take care of the spin bowling department.
Pakistan have announced quite a solid squad for the England tour and will definitely be looking forward to challenging the opposition on their home soil. Let’s see how things turn out for them when the matches actually begin.
