PSL 5 Draft Gold Category Picks

As we move on to the Gold Category of the PSL 5 draft, Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick of the evening in this category. Let’s see what they have up their sleeves now.

Making the first Gold pick of the evening, Lahore Qalandars went for English all-rounder Samit Patel. He might not be as renowned as others, but he’s had a good T20 career overall.

As the second pick in this category, Islamabad United have gone with Rumman Raees. The all-rounder is coming back after an injury and stays with the side that had first given him a break at this level – the Islamabad United.

Multan Sultans had the third pick in this round and they have picked Pakistan all-rounder and a T20 champ Sohail Tanvir. He’s been rated highly in the T20 circuits and has great exposure to the T20 leagues from all over the world.

Karachi Kings made their first pick in the Gold round as they went for Sharjeel Khan who will making a comeback after serving his ban in the spot-fixing scandal. He helped Islamabad United big time in their first title win and will definitely make a difference for Kings this time around.

England’s Liam Dawson goes back to Peshawar Zalmi as they make their first pick in the Gold category. His left-arm spin has been quite effective for them over the years and he’ll continue to add value to Zalmi in the upcoming edition.

Fawad Ahmed – the leg-spinner from Australia – has been picked by Quetta Gladiators as their Gold pick. He performed well for the franchise last year as well and so they have decided to stick with him this year as well.

PSL 5 Draft Gold Category Round 2

The final Gold pick was with Karachi Kings and they decided to go with Cameron Delport from South Africa. The middle order batsman was with Islamabad United last year and will now be part of the Kings’ Squad.

That marks the end of Gold Category picks for the evening. Some useful picks have been made by the franchises and some utility cricketers go to each team in this category.
